You may not know it but things are getting serious between Walgreens and Express Scripts. This is because Walgreens is not part of Express Scripts’ network of pharmacies this year and they have been trying to put effort into renewing the contract since last year.
I do know many of my friends in the military buy their medicines through the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens. They are currently offering a special discount on annual membership by the way. More savings for patients!
Walgreens wants to help support and serve the troops. However, Express Scripts seem to be favoring Tricare. I smell politics here!
Now that they are not part of the Express Scripts network, a heavy inconvenience is placed on patients because many of them covered by an Express Scripts plan now find themselves not only having to change their pharmacists, but many are having to drive farther to get prescriptions filled at pharmacies with less convenient hours for their hectic schedules.
If that is not an inconvenience, tell me what is.
Help support Walgreens’s cause by staying updated and liking Walgreens on Facebook and following Walgreens on Twitter. Spread the word, contact your local media, voice your displeasure. Every little help counts!
